One of the last surviving gates of the 1242–1266 Gradec walls — and Zagreb’s most beloved shrine. After the 1731 fire destroyed everything wooden inside, a painting of Madonna and Child survived untouched; locals still come daily to light candles and leave votive plaques, hundreds of them lining the stone. Free, open 24/7, fifteen minutes at most — pair it with Lotrščak Tower next door. An active devotional space: keep voices low.
